ABOUT ME
Dr. Treemanisha Stewart is a Deputy Director of a DC Government Agency; and also serves as the President-Elect for the DC Metro Public Health Association. She is a seasoned public health leader with over 15 years of experience in public health administration, emergency management, health education, and environmental health. Dr. Stewart continues to influence public health practices on local, state, and national levels. She has a proven track record in strategic leadership, policy development, and workforce development, with a focus on improving public health outcomes in local communities. Recognized as a leader in public health, she was named to the prestigious de Beaumont Foundation’s 40 Under 40 in Public Health and contributes to key public health organizations, including the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) and the American Public Health Association (APHA).
A New Jersey native and Howard University alumnus, Dr. Stewart earned her bachelor’s degree from Howard University, master’s degree in public health from Rutgers University and a doctorate in public administration from Capella University. She also obtained certifications as a Health Education Specialist (CHES), Tobacco Treatment Specialist (TTS), Emergency Manager, Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS), and level 1 fire fighter.
